What?
Celebrating its 10th Anniversary, the Walk/Run for Animals is a three
mile Cross Country Fun Run and Walk featuring refreshments,
entertainment, contests, prizes,
and
a chance
to meet other animal enthusiasts who care about our four-legged
friends.
Why?
The purpose of the Walk/Run is to call attention to the problem of
pet overpopulation. Each year, millions of cats and dogs suffer
and die from starvation, illness, abuse, neglect or are euthanized
in shelters.
The answer lies in spaying and neutering to prevent the birth
of unwanted
animals. Your contribution will be used to provide low cost spay/neuter
assistance and to provide care to animals in need.
Where?
Borderland State Park in Sharon, on the Easton town line. A new state
law imposes a $2.00 parking fee at all state parks, so please come
prepared.

Walk/Run
Information
The
scenic three mile Cross Country Fun Run and Walk will take you
down a well-marked dirt road through beautiful wooded areas, fields,
and
by peaceful
waterways.
Water and rest stations will be set up along the route.
Your
canine friends are welcome. The park regulations require that they
be leashed and under control at all times. You’ll need to clean
up after your pal (clean-up bags will be provided). All animals
must have current vaccinations, including rabies vaccine. Do not
bring female animals in season. Your feline friends and puppies
under six months of age may be better left at home.
Be
sure to join us for the 10th Anniversary celebration and festivities
including music, demonstrations, contests, refreshments and much
more.
