Where does the money go?
Neponset
Valley Humane Society, Inc. is an all volunteer 501c 3 non-profit corporation.
We have no salaries, no mortgages and own no vehicles. The vast majority
of our donated income is spent on care for animals in need either directly
or through financial support of groups and individuals dedicated to
helping the animals. A small portion is spent on producing newsletters
and fundraising activities to raise the dollars needed to continue our
work.
The NVHS Low Cost Spay and Neuter Program assists groups such as our
own Cat Action Teams by offering veterinary services for stray/feral
cats. The program is also available to groups working within the
local community as well as to individuals and families who need financial
assistance with rescued animals or their own companion animal. In addition
to spay and neuter surgeries, the Program offers other crucial veterinary
services such as vaccinations, testing, ongoing and emergency assistance
at reduced prices.
Neponset Valley Humane Society, through the community based Cat Action
Teams, manages several dozen feral cat colonies. Upwards of 300 un-owned
and abandoned animals are fed and sheltered on a daily basis. These
forgotten animals have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated and provided
ongoing medical treatment through the generous donations of NVHS supporters.
Not a day goes by that we do not receive information about more abandoned
and feral animals in need of our help.
Emergency veterinary and rescue situations can, and do, arise at any
time. Extraordinary veterinary care for the special needs cats call for more and more financial support.
A new Medical Fund has been established dedicated
to raising money to be earmarked for both emergency and extraordinary
medical expenses.
Please help through your donations to the NVHS Medical
Fund, General Fund, Sponsorship Fund
or Cat Action Team Program. We promise every dollar you give will be
put to good use for the animals that so desperately need our help.
